Welcome to The Book Palace! We've been selling books (and illustration art) for over 40 years. We started trading in 1973 as Conquistador and since 2001 were incorporated and trade as The Book Palace. We pride ourselves on our friendly service, our competitive prices and our wide range of illustrated books, including first editions, limited editions, signed books and original artwork. All our items are new unless otherwise stated in the description, and we do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship.

We are the proud publishers of illustrators, the art quarterly featuring the world's finest illustrators and their art.

We also publish highly collectable illustrated books under the Book Palace Books imprint. These Limited Editions are produced to a very high standard and our growing list of titles are shown in the left hand column under 'Book Palace Books'!

Our excellent contacts and know-how mean that we are able to source many out-of-print, back-catalogued books and limited editions that are otherwise unavailable, often at a good discount to the published price.

Book Palace Books was established in 1995 to publish limited edtiion books covering the worlds of art and illustration, including comic book and graphic novel reprints to such a high standard that these books are highly collectable.

The art quarterly presenting the world's finest illustrators and their art. illustrators came out of our desire to showcase the unsung artists whose art has been long-overlooked and to create a permanent library of their inspired work.

Established in 1994, The Gallery holds the world's largest selection of affordable illustration art including book covers, magazine illustrations, comic strips, newspaper strips and graphic novels.

We are pleased to offer work experience for a minimum of 2 weeks and maximum of 4 weeks to students and graduates who are interested in art or publishing.

Most of the work will be fairly mundane (filing, sorting and general office admin) but will include database and scanning and client contact and will offer the chance to see how an online art gallery and publishing house works. Typing and computer literacy are essential. You should have excellent written and spoken English, have a good telephone manner, plenty of enthusiasm and an interest in art.

We are a pretty laid back company and our office hours are 9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri. Mostly we have fun, but we work hard.
